At the end of the book the epilogue explains that "anonymous" was found dead after her parents had returned from a movie only three weeks after deciding now to continue writing in another diary. She was rushed to the hospital, but it was already too late for her. She had overdosed.

no one will ever be able to answer the question as to why she overdosed, but what we can say is that "she was only one of thousands of drug related deaths that year".
I've heard of these go ask Alice books. Are these like true stories from an anonamoys person or are they made up by someone?
